How To Draw A Scary Bird

See how easy this scary bird silhouette craft is to make. Add them all over the house for an eerie effect, using this free printable.
My daughter asked me to make a scary craft for Halloween. I have finished my fall decorating, and since she's in college, I really wasn't planning on having much in the way of Halloween decorations. However, it's always nice to have a challenge to inspire your creativity so I thought, why not add some scary bird silhouettes. After all, the crow is an iconic symbol of Halloween.

They couldn't be easier. I found a couple of public domain images on the web.
To use them simply right-click on the image and choose "save as" and copy to your computer. You can open them in Word or Paint and make them smaller or larger and print them out.
Once you print out the birds, cut them out to make a template. Then trace them onto heavy black paper.
After you cut out the heavy black paper birds you might consider spraying them with some glitter for an extra special effect.
Finally, use double-stick tape to place them around the house.
I also added a dot of green neon paint for the eye that glows in the dark. I think they might look better even larger.
How fun is this group on the dining room chandelier. It reminds me of the movie The Birds.
I love decorating for fall and I usually leave the decorations up until after Thanksgiving. Since Halloween is over on October 31st I tend not to decorate specifically for Halloween much. However, these scary birds add a lot of Halloween fun and are super easy to remove come November.
Can anybody say "Alfred Hitchcock?"
Or, maybe... "Quoth the raven, Nevermore."
